Week of January 24th Update
This week has been a rollercoaster, and I’m here to break down every single moment of it. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about wellness, it’s that progress isn’t linear – and boy, did this week prove that point.
The Mental Health Check-In
Anxiety levels have been high this week, but here’s the breakthrough: I’ve started implementing those morning meditation techniques I talked about in my introduction. Some days were tough. On Tuesday, I could barely sit still for five minutes. But by Friday, I managed a solid 15-minute session that actually helped calm my racing thoughts.
Exercise Journey: Pushing Through Resistance
Let’s talk workouts. My goal was three sessions this week, and I’m proud to say I hit two – which is progress in my book. Monday’s strength training felt incredible. I increased my dumbbell weight by 5 pounds, something that would have seemed impossible a month ago.
The missed session? Life happened. And that’s okay. No guilt, just awareness.
Nutrition Wins and Challenges
Nutrition has been my biggest challenge this week. I caught myself stress eating on Wednesday – an entire bag of chips disappeared before I even realized what was happening. But instead of beating myself up, I used it as a learning moment.
Key insights:
- Stress triggers my emotional eating
- I need better snack alternatives
- Meal prepping might help control impulsive eating
The Scale and Beyond
Weight check-in: Down 2 pounds this week. But here’s the thing – the number matters less than how I feel. And right now? I feel stronger, more in control.
Looking Ahead: Next Week’s Goals
- Maintain meditation practice
- Complete all three planned workout sessions
- Prepare healthy snack alternatives
- Practice mindful eating techniques
